3. Smell: All leather has the smell of leather; And faux leather has a strong, pungent plastic smell.

4. Ignition: Tear a bit of fiber from the back of real leather and faux leather. When lit, it emits a pungent odor and forms a knot in the flesh. Anything that smells like hair and isn't stiff is real leather.
